The Animals are Driving me Crazy!

Cooper pouting below my desk. Ignore my sandals and lack of pedicure. LOL!

Today I have a stand off between Kitty Girl aka Shitty Kitty and my boy Cooper. He wanted to be in my home office with me while I worked on my book, and she wants to be in the office to sleep in her sweet kitty bed. As you can imagine when two furry creatures hate each other it doesn’t make for a blissful experience. So I am definitely not in my Zen Writing mode. My Author’s Domain is experiencing disquiet.

About a week ago, I was home with a headcold and working. My day had been filled with online calls, and I was just called on to present the safety statistics for a certain area where I work. I started talking just as Cooper came into the office, spotted kitty on the couch and lunged for her. I told everyone on the call I had to stop a dog and cat fight, and ripped my headset off to grab kitty away from Cooper. He had his jaws completely around her belly, but wasn’t hurting her. I grabbed her got her out of the office and back into her family room spare bedroom dog free space.

When I got back on the call, everyone was laughing and I started presenting again. Once I was done, I said does anyone have any questions? Guess what their questions were! Did I have the fight on video!

Book One of the Aspen Ridge Beginnings series is now live on Amazon! It is available to read on Kindle Unlimited, or for purchase in Ebook or Paperback.

I am so excited to complete what was supposed to be my first book ever written. And it was fun taking the journey writing this one. It caught me off guard when the story went in a totally new direction.

But the story does contain, smart funny women and the alpha males who love them. I hope you enjoy the story of Gabe and Eden, who find love by chance in a coffee shop and then by stepping outside their comfort zones.

You also get a glimpse of the books that will be coming, next up Jameson Blackstone and his forever love, Ana in Dreams of Aspen Ridge. Michael will be featured in Thoughts of Aspen Ridge and Declan will be in Pictures of Aspen Ridge.

Also! Fractured Heart, Book 4 in the Aspen Ridge Holiday Hearts series will be live on February 1st. Its currently available on Amazon for pre-order.

This story includes Jessie the broken hearted sister of Police Officer Jasper Jamison (Gingerbread Heart – Book 1 in the Aspen Ridge Holiday Heart Series) and Flynn Garrett, a veterinarian.

Jessie Jamison is following the rest of her family to Aspen Ridge dragging her broken heart.  After her older brother had moved to Aspen Ridge and found the love of his life, she decided that she needed a little of the magic that Aspen Ridge provided.  She recently ended a long engagement with her fiance after finding him sleeping with her best friend.  Suddenly Portland seemed too small for her, so she accepted a position working in Aspen Ridge Veterinary Clinic with the managing Veterinarian, Flynn Garrett.  She wasn’t prepared for her new boss to be so attractive and has to guard her heart from being interested.

Flynn Garrett  wanted the challenge of running his own veterinary clinic, but never had enough money to start his own office.  With Aspen Ridge funding his clinic, he is able to bring in a quality staff to treat the animal patients of Aspen Ridge. When he meets Jessie, his new veterinarian assistant, he is sent into a tailspin wondering how he can work with someone he might also be falling in love with?

Flynn decides to show Jessie how he feels by Valentines Day.  Will he heal Jessie’s fractured heart or cause his own heart to break? Can Jessie find love and trust with the man she finds attractive? The magic of Aspen Ridge is sure to prevail!

Announcing Book 5 in the Aspen Ridge Holiday Hearts Series! Patriotic Heart. This book is not currently available for pre-order but will be going live in time for the July 4th Holiday.

Jana arrives in Aspen Ridge by accident, literally.  She is involved in a multi-car accident on a nearby  highway.  Her car is totaled beyond repair, but she convinces the tow truck driver to take it to the nearest and cheapest body shop he knows of.  She hopes to convince the body shop owner to do just the bare minimum to get her car moving again.  She is desperate to keep moving because she is on the run from a possessive ex-boyfriend and is traveling to Coeur D’Alene, ID to try and start over.  She also doesn’t want to tell anyone that she has been living in her car so she will have enough money for gas to get her fresh start.

Ransom is a former local from the area.  While he was off fighting overseas, the area he grew up in became the Town of Aspen Ridge.  When he leaves the military to come home, he comes home to start up an auto body shop in the town.  When Jana is dropped off at his shop with her car, he takes one look at her, and realizes that she is the one he has been waiting his whole life for.  When he discovers that she has been living in her car, and is on the run from someone, his only choice is to protect her, take care of her and love her.  He just has to get her to trust him, before she will believe in him.
